I chose to include this quote among the business oriented quotes on this site, simply because this truth does apply on any field. Whether we are talking about academics, or skill based fields, or even business and entrepreneurship.

It reminds me a lot of this quote: The best way to succeed in business, is to be in business

Knowledge is abundant, especially in this age and time, every other fool decide to write a book and pretend to have the path to salvation in x or y industry. Advice is abundant and often contradictory, heck, even quotes are contradictory.

In entrepreneurship and business, we have some main subjects that you find everyone agreeing upon, and then you have subjects where every person has an opinion.

Does it mean that a lot of knowledge have no merit? No, not really. It is important to get the essence of what experienced professionals have to say, without necessarily agreeing with their conclusions. This might be difficult for people inexperienced in a specific field, but can be quite easy for those who are. Thus we arrive to the conclusion of Rumi, the art of knowing, which is achieved when you are experienced, is knowing what to focus on and what to ignore.
