Jack Ma, stupid remarks about technology

I have written a quote from jack Ma previously:
In carrying out e-commerce, the most important thing is to keep doing what you are doing right now with passion, to keep it up. – Jack Ma
I did not necessarily agree with what he said, but thought there might be wisdom unseen to me, after watching this video, i changed my mind.

So, the question, how did Jack build his empire ? Maybe it was right timing and an Chinese unfair advantage ? Or maybe he is just a facade to the real operator of the Alibaba group (CCP)? But, now i am sure, it is not his intelligence that helped him build his empire (unlike what we are used to and expect from tech founders in the west ), this guy would not know what innovate even if it him in the face.
