l am not sure what to say exactly about this quote by Steve Martin. I agree with idea that entrepreneurs and businesses should do their best, but at the same time no entrepreneur should seek attention from big competition.

I guess from an actor / comedian / musician point of view, Steven Martin is 100% right. From a business point of view it is 50/50 …
– You want big competition to ignore you, this way they will not try to take your market share and kill your business.
– But, also you don’t want competition to ignore you, if that could lead to a partnership of acquisition offer.

For sure you don’t want clients to ignore you, and here i guess this quote would be spot on … Provide top quality (services/ products), and people will notice.
