SMART Goals – Get Better at Setting Goals.

SMART goals

By using the SMART framework, individuals and organizations can set goals that are well-defined, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound, increasing the likelihood of success and ensuring that efforts are aligned with overall objectives

The acronym SMART stands for:

Setting SMART Goals:

SMART Goals for employees: This comes essentially in the context of coaching, where the manager tries to improve some metrics.
To give an example, an customer support employee have a low productivity.
Setting a SMART goal would be :
1- Specific: For example, we need to increase your productivity.
2- Measurable: For example, we need to increase your productivity by 20%.
3- Achievable: 20% is most likely achievable, as a first step.
4- Relevant: This goal aligns with the priorities of the organisation of having productive employees.
5- Time-bound: We want to achieve this productivity increase in 3 moths.


SMART Goals for entrepreneurs and companies:
This can be much more complex, but as long as we follow the 5 main criteria, we should be able to create a SMART Goal.
An example of a SMART marketing goal for a business :
Increase the content produced (content marketing), by 30%, within 6 months.

SMART Goals for personal development and growth:
SMART goals are not limited to the business world, you can even use the SMART method to set personal goals. Whether it is learning, fitness, eating, social behaviour, you name it …
