I came across this quote by Jay-z, I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man!

This applies to almost all celebrities and all influencers. Whatever your reason of being famous for, you will have the possibility to make business based on you image and reach. For example, actors get paid to do ad campaigns, influencers get paid to promote a product.

Of course it is not the same for all celebrities. For example, to what level are you willing to merchandise yourself ? Some celebrities do a an ad a year, others will monetise everything they do, from eating in a restaurant, to appearance in a shop.

It is realising that your image and/or voice bring headlines, sell papers or bring clicks, and taking advantage of that to the fullest. That you are the business, and your image is the business.
