Night Owl Meaning / Definition
A night owl is a person who is habitually active or wakeful at night.
Night Owls tend to prefer working late at night, and waking up later (unless they have to work or go to school).
According to a new study by the genetics company 23andMe. The preference for being a morning person or early bird rather than being an evening person or night owl, is at least partially written in your genes. Researchers at the company found 15 regions of the human genome that are linked to being a morning person, including seven regions associated with genes regulating circadian rhythm — the body’s internal clock.
Other studies have shown that night owls and those who wake up later are smarter and more creative than those who rise up early. Night Owls also have higher IQs according to The Independent. Unfortunately, night owls have slightly lower academic scores than early risers (by about 8%).
