Early Bird Meaning / Definition

A Early Bird is a person who habitually wakes up and is active very early.
The term early bird is also used in marketing to describe first adopters or clients (usually it comes with a promotional offer, like 50% discount for early birds).

The notion of early bird is more socially “accepted” or respected than night owls, as it is seen as a sign of dedication and hard work. Some studies suggest that early birds are more successful (“People whose performance peaks in the morning are better positioned for career success, because they’re more proactive than people who are at their best in the evening”).

There is of course the popular proverb that state the same conclusion of the study:

the early bird catches the worm

According to a new study by the genetics company 23andMe. The preference for being a morning person or early bird rather than being an evening person or night owl, is at least partially written in your genes. Researchers at the company found 15 regions of the human genome that are linked to being a morning person, including seven regions associated with genes regulating circadian rhythm — the body’s internal clock.

Some popular early bird people:
Richard Branson : wakes up around  5:45 a.m.
Jack Dorsey:  wakes up at 5:30 a.m.
Benjamin Franklin: was typically up at 5 a.m.
Steve Jobs:  his day started at 6 a.m.
Kevin O’Leary: rises at 5:45 a.m.
