Don’t let others convince you that the idea is good when your gut tells you it’s bad – Kevin Rose

Kevin Rose is the cofounder of digg. Digg was at one time a popular community powered news aggregator, a kind of early and more simplified reddit. Reddit was founded a year after digg, as a kind of clone of digg, and basically out-competed the original project.

My opinion:

Relying on gut feeling is underrated in entrepreneurship.

In most businesses, the founders rely on gut feeling at one time or another. The gut feeling is very important, especially when you have been years in business and have an understanding and a gut feeling developed around this business.
Thus, when others who have less understanding of your system and business than you, do try to convince you you need to change some major aspects, you will need to consider it carefully.

For this specific case: digg was once a very popular website. The site has changed drastically it’s interface leading to the migration of the users to a digg clone called reddit, which kept the same old interface that digg had.
